Micklefield Judo Club took eight players to the British Schools Championships in Sheffield over the weekend.
On Saturday, Anusit Phalasan of St Michael’s Catholic School and Alisa Sydykova of Wycombe High School both won bronze in -60kg and -63kg Years 11/12 respectively. Anusit won five fights and only conceded one.
On Sunday, Marc Hunt of Bourne End Academy became British Schools Champion by defeating four opponents consecutively in -46kg Years 6/7. This is arguably Marc’s best result to date.
Charlotte Timson of Loudwater School also won her way through to the final of the -32kg Years 6/7 category and collected a very credible silver.
Bobby Pusey of Holmer Green Junior won bronze in a strong -34kg category after winning four fights and only conceding one.
