Wycombe Wanderers’ general manager Michael Davies says the club are reaping the benefits of the Chairboys’ promotion to League One after surpassing last season’s total of season ticket sales with two months still to go until the new campaign kicks off.

Gareth Ainsworth’s side sealed their place in the third tier of English football after collecting a joint club record 84 points last term, and Davies says the feelgood factor from the promotion celebrations has continued into the summer with high demand for season tickets taking sales beyond the 2,000 mark.

Davies said: “Earlier this week we hit a special landmark when we overtook the number of season tickets we sold in the whole of last summer, which shows that there’s such great interest from the local community in supporting the team back in League One.

“We believe our season ticket prices are very fair and reflect the experience that we are able to offer at our fantastic stadium.

"Above all, we aim to provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable matchday for everyone, with a particular focus on families and children who will form the next generation of fans, which is why we’re thrilled to see a terrific response to our offering of free season tickets for all children aged 12 and under.

“There’s still plenty of time for fans to benefit from the early bird discount rate, which runs until June 29th so it’s an exciting time ahead with the fixtures due to be released in two weeks and then we can begin planning for the season ahead and continue to work hard to see how many people we can encourage to come along and be part of this journey we’re on."
