KIERAN Mann says he will never go back to High Wycombe RFC after the way he's been treated following his recent move to Marlow.

Mann played for Wycombe for 15 years and made more than 200 first team appearances.

But he says comments made by Wycombe committee members after Marlow's 13-12 win in the Bucks derby, when he scored the winning try, has left a sour taste in his mouth.

He said: "I gave the club 15 good years and could've seen myself going back there one day, but not after Saturday and the things said by some of the committee members.

"I was pretty hacked off and I think rather than swearing at me they should ask themselves why someone has picked up his bags and left.

"There are no hard feelings with me and Dave Rutherford, Wycombe coach, and the players have been fine. I got a couple of cheap shots from them on Saturday and you'd expect that, but I didn't appreciate the comments by some of the committee."

Mann's part in the pre-match hype made it inevitable he would play a pivotal role in Saturday's game, and the centre with the big reputation did not disappoint.

Marlow's first try came when three Wycombe tacklers gravitated to Mann, allowing a miss pass to take them all out of the match and allow Jonny Rees to go over in the corner.

And Mann himself scored the second when he collected his own chip and dived over for what turned out to be the winning score.

He said: "I wasn't going to celebrate, but then I remembered Dave Rutherford saying Wycombe could win here whenever they wanted, and that I could lose games as well as win them.

"Well, I certainly lost him that game."

Mann's insider knowledge also helped the Marlow coaches draw up a blueprint for victory and Rutherford admits his side were blocked up every avenue.

He said: "I knew Marlow had a good performance in them and Saturday was it, they knew our weaknesses and played to them.

"But we were never going to win with all that tension around last week. It was horrible and it's not meant to be like that at amateur level.

"The last two weeks were all about this game but hopefully that's done now and we can move on."

Wycombe move on to Bletchley tomorrow, knowing they are right in the middle of the relegation fight now.

Rutherford said: "Losing to Marlow hasn't changed anything. We still need three wins and Bletchley has to be one of those."

Marlow, who play second-from-bottom Henley tomorrow, are still bottom of the table despite the win, but Mann believes he's in the right camp.

He said: "We're still four points off them, but rugby is a game of momentum and we're going the right way.

"Wycombe are a team of forwards and they play such boring rugby. I don't know how many more wins they can get before the end of the season.

"I know they say they've got teams lower in the table still to come, but we were the lowest and we beat them. I think they're in real trouble now."
