BOSS Peter Taylor reckons Blues’ win at Dagenham & Redbridge has put his team’s promotion bid back on course.

The Blues went into Tuesday’s game on the back of just one win in their last five outings and and Taylor believes most of their rivals were expecting them to slip up again at the free-scoring Daggers.

He said: “The last few matches have not been brilliant for us and I’m sure there were a lot of other teams in Division Two who were looking at this game and thinking we’d get walloped.

“There was huge pressure on the players and they were terrific in handling it.

“It wasn’t just one player who was outstanding, they all grafted for each other.”

The result put Wanderers back into joint pole position with Brentford, who lead the way on goal difference.

And Taylor reckons that being back in the pack, rather than the nine points clear they were at Christmas, will bring the best out of his men.

He said: “Nine points was too nice a cushion. We are under a bit of pressure again now because we haven’t got that and the boys have looked more serious and stronger now that the pressure is back on.

“We’ve got 16 matches to go and they’ll have to do the same again for all of those games.”
