HOLLY Hudson missed out on a national hat-trick at the British Ju Jitsu National Championships in Wolverhampton.

The Park Lodge player was going for a third gold in succession in the Weapons Kata class, but she failed to emulate her triumphs of the past two years.

She did not return empty-handed though, winning silver in the Open Hand Kata and bronze in the Random Attacks as her Kai collected seven medals at the championships.

At junior level, Carla Hughes won Randon Attack gold and Continuous Fighting bronze, Douglas Purves also collected bronze in the Continuous Fighting while Kate Bunce stormed to gold in the Open Hand Kata.

Meanwhile, Maria Falcao was a senior bronze medal winner in Random Attacks.
