GARY Waddock has continued his summer signing spree with the capture of midfielder Kieran Murtagh.

The promising 22-year-old turned down a new contract offer from Yeovil Town to sign a one-year deal at Adams Park.

The former Charlton Athletic player, who has previously had trials with Premier League side Fulham, made 29 appearances for Terry Skiverton's last season as the Glovers' secured a mid-table finish in League One.

Murtagh also found the net during Yeovil's 4-0 hammering of Wanderers at Huish Park on Boxing Day.

Waddock told the Blues' website: “He is a young player who has lots of potential. He is attacked minded and technically very good.

“If he can reach anywhere near his potential here, then he will be a valuable asset for the squad.”

The signing of Murtagh continues Waddock's squad re-building, as the Chairboys look to bounce straight back into League One.

The Blues raided Brentford for trio Ben Strevens, Danny Foster and Nikki Bull. Waddock has also snapped up centre back Dave Winfield from Aldershot Town.
