WASPS have a near full-strength squad for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership opener against Harlequins at Twickenham.

Jason Hobson, Steve Kefu and Bob Baker are the only three of their 35-man squad definitely ruled out, with doubts also surrounding David Lemi and Andy Powell.

Director of rugby Tony Hanks said: “We’ll give them a chance this week to see where they are.”

Powell has a quad and calf injury, while Lemi has a hamstring strain sustained during pre-season.

Hanks said: “David is nearly there, but we’re in a nice position and don’t have to do that.”
