Simpson played on despite broken thumb
WASPS scrum half Joe Simpson played against Bath with a broken thumb.
He injured himself in the warm-up ahead of the St George’s Day game at Twickenham and after some brief treatment he felt well enough to play in the game.
But x-rays revealed afterwards he had actually broken his thumb.
The injury means he won’t play against Exeter Chiefs in Wasps’ last game of the season.
