POSITIVE vibes from the fans will make all the difference to the Wycombe Wanderers players on Saturday, believes Kevin Betsy.

The winger said the backing of the supporters in an expected sell-out crowd will ensure the final-day victory they need to go up.

He said: “When I was at Bristol City we had to win the last game at home to Rotherham to get promotion and we managed to do that through sheer fan volume and that will happen again on Saturday.

“I’m sure when someone misplaces a pass they won’t make a bad noise because they know that the next pass could end up in a goal.

“That’s the difference between this game and any other, the whole positive vibe of the whole stadium, who will make a massive difference to every single player that plays.”

Team-mate Matt Bloomfield agreed, saying: “The fans have been great for us home and away all season. There’s been a great rapport between the fans and the players and hopefully on Saturday we can complete the job. Hopefully we can give the fans something to cheer and something to celebrate.”

Manager Gary Waddock said the fans needed to be patient against a side with nothing to play for.

He said: “Everyone will expect us to get the early goal, which we’d like to do to calm everyone’s nerves.

“We’ve got to be patient. It doesn’t matter when the goals come, so long as we go on and win the game.”
