ANTHONY McNamee admits he didn't know which side he wanted to win when he first saw his new Wycombe Wanderers team-mates play.

The winger was in the stands watching his parent club MK Dons play Blues a fortnight ago, having already agreed a deal to move to Adams Park on loan.

He said: "It was weird, I didn't know who I wanted to win. It was good to see the team and see how they play, and get to meet some of the lads before I came here."

Having been restricted to substitute appearances so far this campaign, the 28-year-old is now desperate to get a few starts under his belt during his month's stay in south Bucks.

The former Watford man said: "I'm raring to go. I haven't played for a long time so I hope to be involved. I didn't have a pre-season so it's hard to get back in but I'm ready to start playing now."

Having enjoyed success over the last three seasons at Swindon Town - who were knocking on the door of the Championship during his time there - and Norwich City, being at the wrong end of the table presents a different proposition for McNamee.

But he says going out and playing their normal passing game against Chesterfield will suit Wanderers down to the ground.

He said: "I don't think it will be tense, we just have to go and play our game. No one gets relegated in December, it's not relevant what position we're in at the moment.

"It's still early - a few wins and you're out of trouble. There's nothing to be worried about at the moment. I don't think we'll be at the bottom for much longer."
