BLUES boss Gary Waddock said he had no problem with his players staying up late playing computer games the night before their crucial game with Chesterfield.

Craig Eastmond, Marvin McCoy and Anthony McNamee all tweeted updates to fans about a FIFA 2012 tournament they played against each other at the team hotel less than 24 hours before the relegation showdown with the Spireites.

The last tweet was sent at quarter to midnight - but Waddock said the late night didn't have any impact on the players' performances the next day.

Asked if it had any affect, he said: "I don't think so. They probably had a lie in on the morning of the game, so they still got x amount of sleep that they needed. That wouldn't have caused a problem."

Despite the result of the game, Waddock was happy with his side's preparation - adding he would have no problem if the players did the same thing again.

He said: "You treat them like adults. They know how to behave and each individual knows how to get their preparation right. You don't treat them like schoolboys.

"The preparation was right, like it always is."

The defeat at the b2net stadium was Wanderers' second game in four days and Chesterfield's second in three, and Waddock admitted fatigue could have been a reason behind the performance.

He said: "It could have been but we had 24 hours more recovery than them."
