MATT Bloomfield will be joining members of the Wycombe Wanderers Community Trust that will be carrying out life-changing work in poverty-hit Kenya.
Blues' longest serving player will be among a team of volunteers jetting out to Africa in June to carry out essential maintenance work at a school that houses hundreds of children.
He said: "I spoke to the boys who went out last time and was fascinated to hear how much of a difference they made to those children in such a short time.
"We all take small things for granted at times, but there are people in the world who aren’t as fortunate as us and I feel we have a responsibility to lend our support.
"It’s a completely different challenge to the one I face at 3pm every Saturday but it’s one I’m really excited about, and I hope as many Wanderers supporters as possible can join me in making a real difference to the lives of people who need our help."
The Community Trust is looking for a team of volunteers to join them in Kenya. They will have the option of a seven night or ten night trip, both starting on Monday June 3 2013. Supporters of all ages are welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
All interested supporters can attend a half hour meeting in the Fair Play Suite at Adams Park at 6.30pm on Tuesday October 23, before the Barnet game. To register your place at the meeting email darren.willis@wwfc.com.
