MATT Bloomfield will be staying at Adams Park into a testimonial year after signing a new contract.

The popular midfielder has today agreed terms on a new one year deal, having made 289 appearances since joining from his hometown club Ipswich Town in 2003.

But the 29-year-old club vice captain missed virtually the whole of the last campaign, playing in just three matches after picking up a pelvis injury.

The new contract means Bloomfield will complete a decade of service with Wanderers, meaning his loyalty will be entitled to a testimonial game.

He told the club's official website: "I’ve grown up here, I love my football and I love life away from the game around here.

"I’m proud and honoured to have been able to have spent 10 years at one place, it’s a big deal and to have spent it here is an even bigger deal.

"Some of the names that have achieved that and had a testimonial here over the years are big names within the club’s history and I’m really proud and honoured to go into my testimonial year."
