WYCOMBE Wanderers have boosted their strikeforce with the capture of Gozie Ugwu.
The 22-year-old was introduced to fans this evening ahead of tonight’s Premier League U21 international cup fixture between Borussia Moenchengladbach and Athletic Bilbao at Adams Park.
The centre forward was released by Yeovil despite scoring five times for The Glovers in League One last season where he finished the campaign as the Somerset side’s joint top scorer.
Prior to that he had a one-goal-every-two-games record in Scotland with Division One outfit Dunfermline Athletic and Wanderers chief Gareth Ainsworth is delighted to add the former Reading youth teamer to his squad as a fourth striker.
He has signed until the end of the season.
Ugwu has been training with the Blues all week and is expected to go straight into the squad for Saturday’s match at home to Plymouth Argyle, a club he played six times for on loan during 2013.
The Oxford-born player joins skipper Paul Hayes, Garry Thompson and Aaron Amadi-Holloway on the striking roster at Adams Park.
