JAMES Tunnicliffe has joined League Two side Crewe Alexandra on a 30 day loan.

The big centre half started the season as a regular for Blues after impressing in pre-season following his arrival from Brighton on a free transfer.

But he was dropped after the 3-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat against Cheltenham Town and only made fleeting appearances after that.

His final game was the disastrous 6-0 loss against Huddersfield last month, being dropped in favour of youngster Anthony Stewart for the next match.

In total Tunnicliffe has made 20 appearances for Wanderers, scoring once with a header on his debut against Scunthorpe.

He could be thrown into the thick of a local derby on Saturday as Crewe face bitter rivals Port Vale.
