WANDERERS boss Gareth Ainsworth said Saturday's draw with Northampton was the kind of game his side would have lost last year.
Blues looked like they were going to run out of time but in the 98th minute Aaron Holloway headed an equaliser that stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches.
Victory would have put Wanderers top of the table but Ainsworth was content to settle for a point against a side strongly fancied for promotion.
Last season heads would have dropped in the Wycombe camp after falling behind and a defeat would have been inevitable - especially against one of the high fliers.
But the new-look Blues kept battering away at the Northampton defence and were rewarded with Holloway's first goal for the club.
Ainsworth said: "There's five games you'll win, five games you'll get battered and there's 36 games that could go either way, and we had one of those today.
"The lads have really dug deep. They have shown they are not an easy pushover.
"Northampton are one of the strong sides. They have got some big hitters in the team and a big squad."
