Having enjoyed a standout loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers, Ryan Allsop extended his season by two games as he represented Portsmouth in the League Two play-offs.
The Bournemouth goalkeeper answered Pompey’s need for an emergency replacement between the sticks at the eleventh hour and played in both legs.
Unfortunately for Allsop, who made 18 appearances during his loan spell with the Chairboys, he could not prevent Portsmouth from falling to a 3-2 aggregate defeat.
After being held to a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Fratton Park, Portsmouth eventually succumbed to defeat after Peter Hartley scored in the 90th minute of the second leg to send the Pilgrims to Wembley.
Allsop is now set to return to his Premier League parent club.
