WANDERERS have captured promising Watford defender Adam Thompson on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old, who has been capped at U17, U19, U21 and senior level for Northern Ireland, can play at centre-back or right-back.

He will train with his new team-mates today and is expected to provide cover at full back due to injuries to Marvin McCoy and Danny Foster.

Blues boss Gary Waddock said: “He’s been on our radar for quite some time now and we’re delighted we’ve been able to bring him to the club.

“He’s got international experience, played in the Championship and in League 1. We also watched him on Tuesday and he played very well.

“We needed a right-back with Marvin McCoy injured and Danny Foster returning to fitness and Adam fits that bill perfectly.”
