HIGH Wycombe HC U16s girls were crowned Home Counties champions after maintaining their 100 per cent record at Surbiton over the Bank Holiday weekend.

They trounced East Grimstead 4-0 in the semi-final thanks to goals from Abbey Griffiths (2), Laura Drysdale and Charlie Fenemer, before a similarly emphatic 3-0 triumph over Oxford Hawks in the final.

Ellie Wheeler, Jade Pallister and Griffiths again scored the goals.

Head coach Marco Parmegiani said: “What a season the girls have had, they have played with the self-belief, passion and determination.

“They deserve to be crowned as champions. I am very proud of all of them.”
