HIGH Wycombe’s Chloe Rogers is swapping the hockey stick for a golf club in a bid to reach the top in a second sport.

She played 162 times for the England and Great Britain womens hockey team, winning an Olympic bronze medal at London 2012 and two Commonwealth Games bronzes.

But she retired from hockey this summer in order to focus fully on a career on the golf course.

The 29-year-old said: “In my head the ambition is to play golf full time and be the best I can be and hopefully one of the best of the world.

“Realistically I’m not anywhere near, but in the long-term I’d love to be playing golf as a career. I’ve got quite quick hands through the ball so when it’s all on time and working well it’s can be good, but it does have its bad moments as well.”

She played in a Ladies European Tour Access Event at Stoke by Nayland Hotel Golf & Spa last weekend but missed the cut after rounds of 86 and 76.
