Bucks trio Nick Catlin, Barry Middleton and Ashley Jackson all scored as England tore Pakistan apart to continue their fine start to the Champions Trophy in India.

England top Pool A after following up Saturday’s 3-1 win against Australia by demolishing Pakistan 8-2 on Sunday – their biggest ever win in the competition.

Catlin, Middleton and Jackson all notched in a frantic 11 minute spell which produced five first half goals for Bobby Crutchley’s team.

The flow of one-way traffic continued in the second period with strikes from Sam Ward and Alastair Brogdon taking the score to 7-0, before Pakistan replied with two quick-fire goals either side of Chris Griffiths notching the eighth.

Marlow native Catlin told England Hockey’s official website: “It was an excellent team performance today. It can often look easy when the score is like that but we worked incredibly hard, we moved the ball well and it was a good display.

“We didn’t want to take our foot off the gas in the second half. We wanted to play the same way and put them to the sword.”

Catlin and co face Belgium on Tuesday in their final Pool A match knowing that a win is likely to set-up a clash against hosts India in the quarter-finals.
