Alex Mullis finished sixth at the National Squash Championship finals during a fine tournament for Bucks players.

The Wycombe Squash and Racketball Club member was the top performing Buckinghamshire player taking part in the U11 finals in Sheffield.

Arhan Chandra of Chesham Bois achieved a 15th placed finish, knocking out third seed Nero Harms in a thrilling five set match.

Konrad Pompe of the Holmer Green Squash and Racketball Club finished 29th, while James Kettle from Milton Keynes came 25th.

The four youngsters are all products of the Bucks juniors squash programme and contested the championship at the Hallamshire Club - the home of world champion Nick Matthew.
