High Wycombe lost ground on leaders Henley at the top of the Home Counties Division One after a draw against Oxford on Saturday.

A tenth wicket stand of 62 between Kyle Simmonds (60) and Jonathan Burden, who faced off 47 balls for his two runs, helped Wycombe avoid defeat.

Oxford, who are still looking for their first win of the season, had earlier compiled 277-8 off 64 overs, with Simmonds (4-79) showing his class with the ball.

And the overseas player was required to display his batting skills after the visitors had slipped from 101-0 to 195-9.

Wycombe are now five points behind the table toppers and have been leapfrogged by Banbury, leaving them third with a game against Tring Park on Saturday to come.
