Amersham Town got the better of mid-table rivals Clean Slate as they romped to a 7-3 home win in the Spartan South Midlands Division One.

Goals from Alfie Keeler, Daniel Jolley, Femi Ogunsola, Kieran Knight, Daniel Mitchel and a Callum Neal double sealed the win that leaves Town 11th with multiple games in hand over those above them.

Ryan Blake scored twice as Chesham United beat Billericay Town 2-0 in first round qualifying of the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Blake scored the opener after 16 minutes when he fired low past the Billericay keeper. He had his second in the 67th minute after Toby Little found him unmarked to head home at the near post.

Elsewhere, Chalfont St Peter suffered a shock defeat at home in the FA Trophy first qualifying round as Waltham Abbey ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

The Saints started slowly and went behind after 19 minutes, and despite Alex Paine’s goal making it one a piece at half-time, two second half goals for the visitors confirmed the result.

Chris Ovenden, Jordan Brown and Jordace Holder-Spooner all scored to lead Marlow FC into the next round of the FA Trophy as they beat Larkhall Athletic 3-0 at home.

Marlow dominated the game and could have won by more but will ultimately be pleased with a win that sees them secure their sixth win in seven games.

Beaconsfield SYCOB recorded a 3-0 win as they beat Fleet Town in the Evo-Stick Southern Division One Central.

The victory came as little surprise against a Fleet side who have lost all of their last six league games and sit 21st in the league.
