In the Bucks Squash League Division One Wycombe firsts endured a difficult weekend as they lost 17-4 to reigning champions Aylesbury grammar School (AGS).

Wycombe made a strong start as Adam Pyne beat Marcus Corner 3-1 in his match but Freddie Evans, who is a junior member of the club, lost 3-0 against Phil Yaerby to swing the tie.

AGS then produced a typically powerful display as Darren Withey and Alex Preston completed 3-0 wins against George Goodchild and Stuart Burnett respectively.

Will John rounded off the win as he beat Mike Hallett 3-1 to continue AGS’s 100% record after four games and keep them top of the table by three points.

Beaconsfield succumbed to their fourth defeat of the season as Uxbridge ran out 17-6 winners while Holmer Green beat Chesham Bois 1B 16-6. Division Two champions Wycombe Seconds played Aylesbury firsts who had been demoted to the division at the end of last year.

Aylesbury’s Dave Herron won 3-0 and Ian McGowan enjoyed a 3-1 success but that was as good as it got for the home side.

The consistent Dave heron and Matt Allanson both won 3-1 and Mike Brown ran out a 3-0 winner to secure a bonus point in a 14-8 win.

Wycombe are now firmly established in the chasing pack behind Chesham Bois Mavericks who won their fifth game in a row with a 17-6 defeat of Beaconsfield Tigers. Beaconsfield Bulls fared much better as they won 15-10 against Holmer Green.

Elsewhere Bisham continued their slump in Division Three as Wycombe Squash and Racket Club (WSRC) fourths trounced them 18-4 at home before losing 14-7 to Beaconsfield Bears.

The fourths built on their win with a close 15-9 victory against Chesham Bois Upstarts with Max Coxon, Mattie Hewlett and Tim Bark-Jones all impressing.

Beaconsfield Trojans and Buckingham both won and because of Aylesbury second’s 19-0 whitewash the top five are separated by just six points. Wycombe Ladies seconds convincingly beat Beaconsfield 15-5 with Fleur Drummer and Brenda Ede being the pick of the performances as each won their games 3-0.
