Chalfont St Peter’s hopes of securing a Division One Central League play-off place took a potentially fatal blow on Saturday as they lost 4-0 against Bedford Town.

The Saints went behind to Dominic Morgan-Griffiths’ eighth minute opener and were outplayed by Bedford as two goals from Matt Clifford either side of a Leroy Griffiths strike completed the rout.

Chalfont are four points outside the play-off places ahead of a home match against Chinnor tomorrow night.

In the same Division Beaconsfield SYCOB were not in action and will play Uxbridge tomorrow night.

Marlow were powerless to resist the quality of Taunton Town in the Division One south & West on Saturday as they suffered an unsurprising 3-0 defeat.

Taunton are currently third in the Division and were on top throughout against Marlow, who remain 11th.

Holmer Green experienced a trying weekend as their South Midland Premier League match against Oxhey Jets was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The cancellation was even more frustrating, given Holmer had lost on Thursday as Joe Dulieu’s free-kick provided the only bright spark in a 4-1 defeat to Stotfold.

South Midlands Division one side Risborough Rangers’ match against Woodford Town also fell victim to the weather as a waterlogged pitch meant their game was called off.

Flackwell Heath fell to their second defeat in a row as they lost 5-2 in an entertaining match against Brimscombe & Thrupp in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Elsewhere, Amersham Town ended their losing run in the South Midland Division Two as they won 3-1 against Aston Clinton. Callum Neal (2) and Josh Collins got the goals for Town.

It was a weekend to remember for Penn & Tylers Green as they secured the Hellenic League Division One East title with a 2-0 win over Finchampstead.

Finally, Chesham United did not play over the weekend and will return to action when they take on Merthyr Town tomorrow.
