Former Davenies School pupil AJ Woodland put on a masterclass in batting to help break four different records over the weekend.
Woodland, who now attends St Edward’s Independent and Boarding School in Oxford, led the school’s cricket team to a resounding win over Abingdon.
The sixth former’s unbeaten stand of 204 saw him carry his bat for the full 50 over innings as he posted the schools’ highest ever score.
In achieving the tally Woodland also became the first batsman to make a double century in the school’s 156 year history.
He was joined at the crease Ben Charlesworth who made 110 before Abingdon finally grabbed their first wicket with St Edwards on 310.
It was the highest ever partnership by two St Edwards Pupils and formed the vast majority of their record smashing final total of 338-1.
To top off the day of individual glory St Edwards rolled through the Abingdon batting line-up for just 87 to secure a mammoth winning margin of 251 runs.
