The U11 netball team began their season with a tournament held at Godstowe Preparatory School on Saturday.
With five matches to play the girls had a busy morning. The first match was against Yateley Manor and although matching Yateley for goals in the first half, they eventually lost 3-6.
By the second game Maltman’s got into their stride and had a better flow of passing, leading to a 4-1 win over The Abbey.
The third match was against Berkhamsted and again Maltman’s managed a goal flurry winning 7-2.
Continuing with their winning form, the team defeated High March 7-1, showing a confident performance and excellent persistence in the circle.
The final game was against the hosts, Godstowe, and was a match with plenty of goals, eventually drawing 7-7. Losing only to Yateley Manor, the eventual winners, Maltman’s finished on a higher goal difference than the hosts to clinch the runners-up place.
