Following an undefeated start to the season Wycombe Men's first XI welcomed Guildford to Bisham but lost their unbeaten record, going down 3-1.

Buoyed by recent success Wycombe started brightly with Stephen Sloan coming close on the counter. However, against the run of play Guildford managed to win and then convert their first short corner of the day; a deflection off a drag flick making the score 0-1.

Despite this setback Wycombe continued with a possession based approach but were met by a stout Guildford defence. Guildford then won another short corner which they converted to make the score 0-2 at half time.

Following a dressing down at half time Wycombe began the second half with greater tempo and purpose; unfortunately Guildford had other ideas. A contentious green card for Sam Burroughs led to Guildford being awarded another short corner which they duly converted to make the score 0-3. As Guildford sat back to protect their lead tempers began to flare. Jaz Grewal received a yellow card.

Wycombe pressed for a goal but were only able to reduce the arrears by one goal. Cameron Ryall received the ball and played a hopeful reverse stick crash ball into the Guildford circle. Kirushanthan Sivagnanam received the ball and calmly converted past the keeper.

Despite late pressure the scoreline finished 1-3; a disappointing result. Wycombe travel to Staines this weekend hoping to get back on track.
