Two Beaconsfield players were called up to represent Scotland as they played for the Scotland Exiles at Murrayfield recently.

Scott Masson and Drew Cordiner played for the U16 Green Team at the home of Scottish rugby with Beaconsfield tweeting their congratulations to both players.

For Scott, it was a special day . He said: "'I was pleased and excited to be selected to play for Scottish Exiles team, it is a fantastic honour to be selected."

The Exiles are a team of players who live outside Scotland but who are eligible to play for Scotland by birth. Scott's grandfather was born in Kilmarnock and the U16s is the first opportunity to bring this team together.

Scott's proud dad, Gavin, added: "Scott played very well in the game, passing and distributing the ball well in the fly-half role that he played and I'm very proud of Scott as he has worked hard to get to this level and is very determined to succeed.

"He has been playing well for Beaconsfield this season and has benefited from the excellent coaching at the club led by Noel O'Mahoney, Ian Howells & Jim Sukkar."

Mr Masson also explained what the next step for his son could be.
He said: "The next step is hopefully to play for the Exiles at Easter against a Welsh and England team at an International Tournament in Colwyn Bay. This will be followed up by a Tour to South America - Argentina and Chile -  with the Royal Grammar School senior team in July as preparation for the next season at RGS."
