Beaconsfield proved too strong for Aylesbury in an exciting game which produced some very good rugby from the league leaders, who eventually ran out 42-7 winners.

Beaconsfield were quick off the mark with an early penalty before Drew Labri jinked his way through the opposition defence to score, with Aled Lewis extending the away side’s lead with the conversion. 0-10.

The second try came on the right wing from Callum Wilkinson, who finished off a lovely move after good work from his teammates. Lewis converted to make the score 0-17.

The visitors extended their lead soon after when Ben Cartwright went over, with Lewis converting again. 0-24.

Following half-time Aylesbury came out on the attack but were stopped short of the line, Lewis then took the ball from the base line and ran it up the left to half way minimising any danger.

Aylesbury grew into the game, and the home side tried to move forward, and eventually after several phases they did go over for a try which was converted 7-24.

Beaconsfield were then awarded a penalty from a ball out of the ruck, which Lewis converted. 7-27. Freddie Pugh then scored a breakaway try pushing the score on to 7-32.

The visitors then took control, forcing another penalty which Lewis converted, taking the score to 7-35.

A few good attacks from Aylesbury were well defended by Beaconsfield, both in tackling and moving the ball out from the line. They succeeded in one final try, which was well taken by Pugh again and converted moving the score on to 7-42, which was how the game ended.

This result leaves Beaconsfield ten points clear at the top, with their next game scheduled on April 7 against Buckingham
