MARLOW Rowing Club’s juniors came back from the British Championships with nine medals, including three golds.

There was a one-two success in the W14J Quadruple Coxed Scull as Marlow won the gold and silver medals, with just 0.8 seconds separating the two teams. Amy Robertson, Tegan Foister, Heidi Long, Phoebe Mansfield and Cox Jess Croll finished ahead of crewmates Caroline de Ban, Jodie Wright, Eve Cox, Julia Jemielity and Cox Tabitha Millett.

Jacob Buckle, Josh Kent, Charlie Simon and Seb Devereux were also gold winners as they powered across the line first in the J16 Quadruple Sculls, with Devereux and Kent following that up with a bronze in the J16 Double.

Fraser Russell and George Buckle, two younger members of the boys’ squad, provided more evidence of the club’s up and coming talent by taking silver in the J14 Double Scull. They also took bronze alongside Jason Burnap and Alex Haynes in the J14 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, with Will Sones, Ted Treasure, Dan Hostetler, Ed Davis and Cox Keegan Curlewis winning gold in the same event.

Anna Smart won silver in the WJ16 double scull alongside Alexandra French of Eton Excelsior Rowing Club, with both rowers being selected to represent England in the Home Countries International Regatta taking place this weekend. Smart returned to take bronze in the WJ16 Double Sculls with Abi Armstrong.

In the senior section Marlow’s Women won two silver and two bronze medals.

Dani Phillips, Tamsin Knill, Jo Wright and Emma Mitchell took silver in the Lightweight Coxless Four, there was bronze in the Coxed Four for Anna Brazinova, Hannah Cumming, Tamsin McAllister, Ruth Naylor and Cox Lisa Knill. The Coxless four crew also took bronze in the Lightweight Quadruple Scull, finishing one place behind a crew that included team-mates Tilda Horne and Katie Williams.
