ASHLEY Johnson says his Wasps team-mates need to take individual responsibility to avoid those last-minute blues.

Wasps have suffered late on more than once in recent seasons, with last Saturday’s bitter experience against Saracens the latest in painful list.

Johnson said: “Closing out games like that comes from experience.

“You can be experienced and still have games like that but we’ve spoken about what happened against Saracens and we need to put it behind us now.

“We’re going to be more desperate because of it, but next time we’re in that situation hopefully we can show that we have learned our lessons.

“I don’t think it’s a case of nervousness, it’s about cutting out those individual errors and trusting our structures.

“If we all take individual responsibility next time we’re in that situation hopefully we will close it out.

“There are no more excuses now.”

Wasps play Northampton Saints on Sunday, when Johnson and the rest of the pack will be put under intense pressure.

He said: “Playing the Premiership champions is a great challenge but we’re going to meet it head on.”
