FORMER Wacaday star Timmy Mallett's paintbrush doodlings have helped raise money for Cookham charities.
Money raised from the sale of Timmy’s 50 Portraits of Cookham will help Cookham Village Pinder Hall, in Lower Road, among other charities in the village.
Timmy said: "I’ve been to lots of functions at the village hall and I’m really pleased we have been able to help like this. People have been very generous, especially when they knew the money would go towards Cookham charities. We are delighted to be able to help so many smaller organisations that would otherwise struggle to find funds.” The £250 raised will buy five tables for Pinder Hall, which is used by many villagers.
Nigel Topping, who helps run the hall, said: "This is part of our ongoing plans to keep Pinder Hall up to date in its facilities. Our next project will be the refurbishment of the entrance lobby, and toilets and we’re hoping to get more new tables and chairs. We’d like to have some new stage curtains too.” To help raise money contact Jackie Topping on 01628 524438

I’ve decided to embark on a new career. For years I’ve depended on the goodness of someone else paying me a salary for my journalistic wares. It hasn’t earned me a fortune, but at least it’s kept a roof over my head with enough left to feed the cat.
