A search is underway after a dog was snatched by thieves on Monday night.

Thieves broke into a kennel at a property in Foresters, Water End and stole Smudge, a female Patterdale Terrier, on February 16.

Smudge was stolen from the garden of her home at some point between 11.15pm and 11.35pm that night.

A vehicle was seen reversing up to the gate near the kennels, before a man broke in and stole the nine-year-old dog.

The thief who took Smudge is described as white, around 5ft 11ins, of average build and wearing a light coloured hooded jumper.

Earlier on Monday morning, three men, one wearing a grey hooded jumper, in a blue C240 Mercedes Elegance Auto were seen driving up and down in the area before speeding off at around 10am.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw any suspicious looking people or vehicles in the area, or who can help with the investigation, should contact investigating officer PC Danny O'Driscoll, of Marlow police station, on 101.
