A WORKSHOP for parents and teachers to learn more about improving children’s education will be hosted by a Bourne End school next week.

Clayton’s School PTA is inviting other Parent Teacher Associations to attend a fundraising and good practice session run by PTA-UK, the national charity representing more than 13,750 groups.

The free workshop will focus on innovative fundraising ideas and ways to maximise tried and tested events.

The charity will be on hand to give advice on getting more support for PTAs and encouraging more parents to get involved, as well as hints about working with local businesses.

Legal considerations and basic health and safety principles will also be covered.

Helen Fisher, chair of Claytons PTA, said: "We attended a PTA-UK event in Watford earlier in the year and found it really helpful.

"We are really pleased to be hosting this workshop and hope to meet as many local PTA representatives as possible."

The event runs from 6.45pm to 9pm on October 17 at the school on Wendover Road. For more information or to reserve your place call 01959 525802.
