Women between 16 and 45 are being invited to give their views on contraception in a new online survey commissioned by NHS Buckinghamshire. The NHS organisation, which plans and buys health services on behalf of residents across the county, wants to gather the views of local women on how they take care of their contraception needs in order to improve NHS services in Buckinghamshire.

Angie Blackmore, Public Health Principal for NHS Buckinghamshire, said: “Listening to what local people say about our services is vital to informing the way we develop them, so it is important that as many Buckinghamshire women as possible complete the survey and tell us about their experiences.”

“Last year, asking local young people for their views on sexual health services helped us to develop our local chlamydia screening programme. Under 25s in Buckinghamshire told us that they wanted screening to be convenient and anonymous, with testing and treatment available in community pharmacies.

“As a result of this feedback, we are about to pilot chlamydia testing and treatment at Centra Pharmacy in High Wycombe, Garlicks Pharmacy on Broadway, Chesham and Tescos Pharmacy in Tring Road, Aylesbury."

The anonymous contraceptive survey takes about five minutes to complete and can be found at www.sexualhealthbucks.nhs.uk. Local women have up until Sunday 14th November to complete the survey, and the results will be available to view on the website in December.
