13 year old Guy Moss has made a sensational start to the London Diamond Jubilee Congress. After a win against Malaysian Zhuo Ren Lim, he drew with International Master Jack Rudd in Round 3. Jack is amongst the top 80 players in the country and is known for an instinctive, swashbuckling style not too dissimilar to Guy's own speedy play. Clearly the youngster wasn't daunted by the challenge he faced. The tournament is part of the e2e4 calendar which has recently held events in High Wycombe and Latimer. There are 9 rounds in total and you can follow Guy's progress at www.e2e4.org.uk/gatwick/jun2012/premier.htm until Wednesday.

Guy had emerged fresh from his triumph in the Under 13 boys Megafinal. Here is a list of winners; sadly, no girls over the age of 12 took part, hence why no prizes were awarded in those age groups. Congratulations to all the winners, who automatically qualify for next month's Southern Gigafinal.
