I want to see how many local children can walk to school on Friday, May 24. This is part of Walk to School week which starts on May 20 as part of Living Streets – which runs the national walk to school campaign.
I have emailed a dozen High Wycombe junior schools to encourage children to walk to school on that day.
As a parent I know how important it is to encourage good healthy habits in my children. However statistically more children are now being driven to school and that is not encouraging.
Walking to school is a nice relaxed way to start the day, maybe seeing some wildlife, building in some stamina and even helps the adults control their weight. So children nag your parents and walk to school. Happy walking on Friday, May 24.
