Criticism of the NHS seems to be ongoing and I am sure there are cases where these criticisms are justified. My wife, however, was recently in the Intensive Care Ward at Wycombe Hospital with a progressive condition which turned out to be terminal. The care she received there was nothing other than kind, caring, thorough and patient.
Everything that could be done to make to make her situation as comfortable and as dignified as possible was done and I was afforded every consideration and consultation during my daily visits. Never once did I have any qualms at the care she was given on a personal level or with the efforts that were made to rescue her situation.
This side of the NHS is rarely mentioned in letters but it should be, it is crucial. — Clive Trowbridge, Wheeler End
