I was surprised to see on television that one of the richest parts of the south actually had a food bank.

On reflection, I suppose we are a country of vast inequality and the very poor live almost cheek by jowel with the extremely rich.

Food banks are a civilised attempt to allow the poor to have a basic food supply.
