RE “Bucks roads are worse. than Third World ones” (Letters, last week).
“We’re working on it” – did the word ‘not’ get missed?
I completely agree with Anthony Weeden’s “Roads worse than Third World” letter and share his relief that Transport for Bucks appear to have admitted that the existing ‘Highways on Call’ system is not working. Let us have faith that they manage to find something more suitable that helps the reporting / tracking / potential fixing of potholes improve.
However, I do wonder at their decision-making ability when I have to drive past signs telling us ‘We’re working on it’ – spread across Bucks it seems. I have not counted them, but I have seen several. Are they making fun of us road users?
Roads are a disgrace and they decide to spend time and money designing/producing/erecting signs that are a complete waste. Could not that time and effort have been better spent?
Heaven help us if the same people have any influence over any new system! Still, we might get a poor system, but we might get a roadside sign telling us!
