Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield believes that despite Lincoln City’s position in the table, the Imps are a ‘side in form’, ahead of this weekend’s fixture at Adams Park.

The visitors cannot reach the play-offs and are safe from relegation, as they sit in 12th place with four games remaining.

The highest they can potentially finish is eighth, whilst the lowest is 16th  - effectively meaning their 2022/23 campaign is all but finished.

Additionally, Mark Kennedy’s side are the only team out of the 92 clubs this season to draw 20 matches, and currently, Wanderers solitary 0-0 draw this campaign in the league happened to be against the Imps back in December.

However, Bloomfield will not be taking anything for granted, as he aims to register back-to-back wins for the first time as Wycombe’s boss.

He said: “They’re not playing like a team that has got nothing to play for and they will offer a stern challenge.

"We seem to be playing some teams who are on a good run of form at the moment, and Lincoln are no different.

“Three wins and two draws in the last five games, they’ve got a very good young team and are very well coached.

“Mark Kennedy is doing well there as he’s getting his team to play out from the back and with a back three, along with some very good physicality up front.

“They will offer a lot of challenges, but we have done our research and have studied them, and we will pick the best team to try and combat them.”

On the final three matches of the season, he concluded: “He added: “It’s that time of year where results are everything.

“Of course, progress and performances are very important and that’s what I want, and I believe in that wholeheartedly.

“However, once it gets to April, you need to try and pick up as many points as you can, and we will be looking at this game in trying to get the win.”
