A unique grotto experience will be arriving in High Wycombe next week as the countdown to Christmas begins.

The Enchanted Wonderland, which will be based at the Chiltern Shopping Centre, will see children enter a ‘forest’ where they will meet an elf Mrs Clause.

After a range of activities, they will then be ‘transported’ into another section of the grotto where they will meet Father Christmas.

The initiative show is now in its fifth year.

Victoria Snaith, who is the lead creative director for the festive family fun experience said: “We’re trying to make things more engaging and interactive as this is an interactive play grotto.

“It’s 30 minutes long, you enter through the front, and the window area will be created into a forest where they will meet Mrs Claus and Jingle the Elf.

“The narrative that will run through this whole experience is that they are looking for the missing Christmas Tree fairy as we can’t find her.

“So this is all about explorative play, making friends and learning.

When you move into the next room, it is like you’re going into a magical portal where you go from here which is ‘our world’, to somewhere else where you meet Father Christmas.

“That’s where the children can have one-on-one time with him where all the regular grotto stuff will take place, but on top of that, everyone will be able to enjoy puppetry, physical play and role play.

“I’m a creative director, this has been my job for 10 years and everything needs to be interactive for kids as well as adults.”

The launch will take place on Saturday, December 2.
