A Just Giving page has been launched after a stand at a Buckinghamshire football stadium was destroyed in the recent storms.

Aylesbury Vale Dynamos, a Non League side that plays their respective home games at Haywood Way within the town, revealed that the stand behind one of their goals was completely written off at the start of the calendar year.

This was due to both Storm Gerrit and Storm Henk respectively, with the club needing to fork out roughly £6,500 to get the stand fixed.

On their Just Giving page, it reads: “We are no stranger to the effects of mother nature as you will all know, and are hit each year with severe flooding, and last year frozen pipes that closed the clubhouse for five months.

“This year we have been hit with another unexpected slap in the face.

“The recent storms have destroyed our spectator cow shed and left a path of destruction in its wake.

“We try and stay positive through everything thrown at us, and we work hard to make the club the best it can be for all who visit, but this has caught us off guard and we really could do with some help to buy materials for a new shelter.

“Any donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.

“Once up and running again we will pay it forward by donating the proceeds of a Saturday game gate to another club or organisation who needs help in some way.”

It is the fourth season in a row that the Dynamos have been hit by hard luck.

During the 2020/21 campaign, the club saw their Haywood Way home submerged under water due to heavy storms at the start of 2021.

Just over a year later, the club were broken into and had cash taken from the till in a late-night burglary.

This happened just days after they announced that one of their league games would be free of charge to spectators, in exchange for surplus kits that would be donated to Africa.

Last season in December 2022, frozen pipes caused significant ceiling damage and leaks in their clubhouse which was eventually closed for five months.

At the time of writing, £4,139 has been donated to help the football club.
