Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth believes his side’s 0-0 draw away at Lincoln City is a ‘great point’ on the road.

In a game of few chances at Sincil Bank, Brandon Hanlan came closest to scoring for the Chairboys when his effort in the second half hit the post.

The result means Wanderers have kept three clean sheets in their last four games as they move into ninth place, just four points off fourth place.

Speaking on the performance, Ainsworth said: “I think we shaded it on the better chances, but, it just didn’t look like it was going to go in today [December 10].

“We had plenty of corners, hit the post, and their keeper made a fantastic save from their own defender.

“But it’s an excellent point to take home and that point may mean something come May.

“Everyone is saying that we’re having a bad season, but we’re four points off fourth which is brilliant.

"I think we’ll be in the play-off pack come the end of the season and hopefully, we’ll look back on Lincoln away as a great point.

“We cancelled each other out as Lincoln didn’t have a real clear-cut chance which I am really proud about.”

Wycombe’s final away game of 2022 will be against Plymouth Argyle on Thursday, December 29.
